Welcome to the Lendy's Web Page, special.

Featuring Salem and Roanoke Va.'s most FAMOUS restaurant chain.

The Gold Nugget on Williamson Road was a departure from the Lendy's norm. Inexpensive steak houses like 'Bonanza', 'Rustler' and 'Sizzler' had become popular, and were popping up all over the country, as were fast food 'roast beef sandwich' franchises like 'Arby's' and 'Roy Roger's'.

Leonard Goldstein decided to capitalize on this trend, and featured 'Steaks' and 'Roast Beef sandwiches' at the Gold Nugget in addition to the regular Lendy's menu items, in an old west atmosphere. Beer was also a new addition to the menu.

A small conestoga wagon sat in front to complete the look. It's builder is seen at top of page.
