Corporal Richard Warfington

Richard Warfington successfully brought the keelboat, the journals and the scientific discoveries (including four live magpies and a prairie dog) back from Fort Mandan to St. Louis in the spring of 1805. He also had to manage all the men who had been kicked out of the permanent party, including Reed and Newman. He received a bonus for his excellent command of this difficult assignment.
