Meet Kizzy, a Bichon Frise. The Bichon has been described as “a small, sturdy, white powder puff of a dog whose merry temperament is evidenced by his plumed tail carried jauntily over the back and his dark-eyed inquisitive expression....gentle mannered, sensitive, playful and affectionate...a cheerful attitude is the hallmark of the breed and one should settle for nothing less.”

Kizzy was lucky enough to be adopted from the New York Bichon Rescue. Once settled in, he began spending time with a family member who was recovering from a stroke. Although the person had undergone extensive therapy, she was unable to move her right arm or hand and her speech was barely audible. Kizzy sat with her, providing much-needed attention and comfort. Although her muscles were still very weak, she actually began stroking Kizzy with her right hand. In addition, Kizzy appeared to be listening when she was reading a magazine. .and thus began Kizzy’s new life in his forever home.
