All-Around READing Dogs
Tennessee ~ The Mid South Therapy Dogs

Kacie says, "What a good reader you are! "

Kacie is a Golden Retriever. Goldens are athletic and fun-loving dogs, very social and especially suitable as family companions. They can be overly exuberant and enthusiastic, which can be distracting during training lessons, but they love to learn and are eager to please, and that is a winning combination.

Cooper spreads the word about R.E.A.D.

Cooper, also a Golden Retriever, hopes to go with his people to Utah for the 2007 Wild about R.E.A.D. Conference. Walker, Walker, Kacie, and Cooper shown on this page are all Pet Partners certified for therapy work by Delta Society®, and they are also R.E.A.D.® teams working with Mid South Therapy Dogs.

Mid South Therapy Dogs is an organization devoted to providing all people, young and old, the opportunity to experience the magic of the human/animal bond. Whether the need is physical, emotional, or just for a friend to talk to, the Mid South volunteers and their gentle canine partners are ready to offer support.

Walker is relaxed and comfortable listening to a story about Clifford, the Big Red Dog.

Walker is a German Shepherd Dog. German Shepherd Dogs are strong, agile, and muscular. One of the most recognizable of breeds, they are also one of the most intelligent. Loyal and courageous, they are protective of their family. A devoted and faithful companion, the GSD is often called a “one-man dog.” They can vary in color, but the strong, rich colors are preferred. Although considered quite beautiful by many, a white GSD would be not be allowed in the show ring.
