Welcome to the Lendy's Web Page, Blacksburg.

Featuring Salem and Roanoke Va.'s most FAMOUS restaurant chain.

From outside you might never have known it, but there were two themed dining experiences beneath the Lendy's in Blacksburg. They were the "Copper Den" and the "Inn of the Clock".

Like many popular restaurants of the time, the Copper Den adopted a rustic look, complete with rough hewn paneling, old style fixtures and "conestoga wagon" salad bars.

This section included a old fashioned wood burning kitchen stove, and "oil lamps" on the tables.

The Inn of the Clock was decorated in a more refined style, including brass chandeliers and heavily upholstered leather seating.

At the entrance were a variety of items for sale. Candies, jams, jellies, spices and other items were displayed in a "Country Store" setting.

Later the bar downstairs would change names, becoming the "Sound Cellar" catering to the college crowd. Among its unusual features were barber chairs mounted near the bar. Patrons would enjoy raising and lowering these seats as they partook of their libations.
