Past Information

The Redbud Harp Circle was supported by the Redbud Chapter of the International Society of Folk Harpers (ISFHC) and Craftsmen.  We sought to promote an appreciation of the folk harp and preserve the folk harp's musical tradition in the central Oklahoma area, and we welcomed all harpers to join us at our monthly circle meetings.  As a chapter of the ISFHC, the following were our goals:
  • To experience and share the art and craft of the folk harp through regular meetings, workshops, educational programs, newsletters, and community activities.
  • To be open and responsive to membership needs by providing them a voice through newsletters, editorials, and democratic vote.
  • To organize and encourage meetings (circles) where members can share their knowledge and educate others. The circle is to be coordinated by the membership.
  • To support other local harp initiatives such as the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Harp Society events, St. Patrick’s Day Irish Harp Orchestra events, student and professional recitals, workshops, etc. in order to further our own growth and skill as harpers.

The following were our officers:

Linda Ashton, President
Lisa Wynn, Secretary
Carol Skalsky, Treasurer
