Anders modified Malmgren’s medium

Modification of Malmgren’s medium for cypripedium germination.

Sucrose 15 g Agar 7-8 g MgSO4 75 mg Ca3(PO4)2 75 mg KH2PO4 75 mg FeSO4 10 mg Vamin 0.5-1.0 g Pineapple juice 25 mL Activated charcoal 0.5 g

Adjust pH to 5.6. Makes 1 liter of media. “For slipper orchids, include 5 mg kinetin.”
