BM1 medium

Same as BM medium, but  inorganic nitrogen is removed (KNO_3, (NH₄) ₂SO₄, and NH₄NO₃), and the following added:

Casein hydrolysate	500 mg
L-glutamine	100 mg

Note: This can be modified by adding Murashige and Skoog at 1/5 strength, and adding 1cc of Nietsch vitamins. Replate when protocorms are 1-2 mm, with diffuse light “when the seedlings are about 5 cm big.” [R.J.A.H. Meijer, pers. communication]
