 Fertilizer (as listed below)

 6 grams

 Chinese food-store agar

 38-43 grams (1-1/3 to 1-1/2 ounces)

Makes 4 liters (about 1 gallon) of mix. Add sugar, "super-ripe" bananas, and "other components" as required.

Fertilizers: G&B 20-10-20 for cattleyas and hardy orchids; Peters  12-36-14 for ghost orchids (leafless species); and 10-60-10 "Bloom Plus" by Schultz for phalaenopsis. Replate of cattleyas and leafless species uses Miracle-Gro for roses, 18-24-16.

Adjust pH (5.6 to 5.8?).
