Originally cited by Murashige and Skoog, 1962.
Thompson notes that while this formula was originally designed for tissue cultures of tobacco, it may be used for several species of orchids. This media contains high levels of salts (nitrogen and potassium are very high) and most of the growth regulators are not essential for most orchids; the range is given for experimental use.
P-668, P-6668, P-1056, and P-748 are very similar to half-strength M&S medium.
