Dear
Members and Supporters:
We would
like to inform you that one of
LOKA-USA's
national projects, the US VWP (Untied States Visa Waiver Program) for Korea,
which we initiated in 2004, has been steadily moving forward to meet its
necessary requirements that will allow
Korea to be eligible to apply for this program. It's time
for all of us to take action and get involved in this project to help accomplish
the goal of obtaining a Visa Waiver for temporary visitors who enter the
US
with VWP-compliant passports.
The US VWP
has been on the wish list for a long time for many, especially those who have
relatives, friends and business relations with Korea.
There is
an official website (www.welcome-korea.org)
that provides ample information regarding the US VWP. The downloadable petition
letters to your federal representatives, petition forms and talking-points are
available on this website as well. We encourage you to send as many letters as
possible to urge your House of Representatives, US Senators, White House and
current cabinet members to support this program. You can also file an online
petition directly from this website.
We ask all
our members and supporters to diligently participate in this campaign and
encourage others to support this important program. It will not only help our
US
economy, but also helps US-Korea relationships.
We charge
each chapter to set a goal of getting 10,000 signatures and sending petition
letters to US Government Officials via emails and faxes. If your time allows,
meet with your representatives face-to-face and ask them for their support on
this sound, common-sense and economically-feasible program.
Those of
you who are not of Korean origin can also participate and help in this campaign.
The
original, signed petition forms should be mailed to LOKA-USA headquarters at:
LOKA-USA
PO Box 1072
Springfield,
VA
22151
If you
need help or assistance in getting additional information or customized letters
and forms, please reply to this email or phone us at 301-598-3150 (Peter Pyen);
703-585-9594 (Peter Shin); or 703-867-5788 (Kim

Thank you
for your help and support,
Kim Miller
