I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or death. Philippians 1:20
Have you ever been extremely frightened? What action did you take to try to calm down? Unfortunately most of us don't think to pray for comfort in frightening events. We may pray afterwards to thank God for helping us but we don't do it in the most crucial time! I am just as guilty! A lot of things in life take courage. Courage we may not have. One of the biggest things we must be courageous in is our faith in God. Is your faith a secret to everyone around you except for the people at church? Does your neighbor know? Your boss? How many people do we come into contact with everyday and how many know who we really are? Standing up for your belief in Christ is courageous! It can be hard to speak about our faith as we may be laughed at, rejected or even threatened. I have come to the realization as of late ( I struggle with witnessing, too) that God's love for me is more important than another persons opinion of me. What great joy it'd be if everyone we speak with would automatically become followers of Jesus. Unfortunately, sin prevents that from being the case. More often than not we are just the planters of the seed. Use your courage to encourage others around you. If you feel afraid ask the Lord to guide you and say the right words.
