Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14
What is it to have holiness? My opinion on that is to live a life of peace, purity and righteousness. Our goal as Christians should be to become holy. Of course, as humans, we can not achieve perfect holiness but if we live our lives in a Godly manner we will appear holy in God's eyes through the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. None of our past sins or future sins will be visible as long as Jesus is in our lives. They are forgotten because Jesus's blood washed them clean. You may ask "why then must we live a Godly life if Jesus died for our sins? Why can't we do what we want?" The answer is this: If you have a true faithful relationship you will want to live a God pleasing life. Of course you'll make mistakes but the point is you never stop trying to please the Lord. He also asks that we live in this way and I honor and respect God and therefore I do (to the best of my ability)the best I can in living a life filled with holiness.
