The then Sgt. Clark was with the 937th Field Artillery which had been repositioned to just north of Pukjong-ryong on road 117A about 12 July 1953 in support of the ROK Capital Division. He wrote, "It was the monsoon season in the Kumhwa valley and I recall that our L19 observation aircraft were not "up" due to weather, and radar flash and sound observation posts were not effective due to the humidity."
NOTE: "A" battery of the 937th is mislabeled on "page 642" as the 935th.
"All but one regiment (19th) of 6th ROKA Division did a
"retrograde" and didn't stop until they were far south, leaving 14
"I am attaching a photo of one of our guns photographed at dawn on the 14th of July in support of the Capital ROK Division (what there was left of it from the previous nights attack)."
