A Turbo Gordini

Here are some pictures of a really cool 1969 Lotus Europa. The owner prefers to remain anonymous for now as he has little free time to answer questions. If you have a question that you just have to ask, he prefers that you ask it through me for now. His comment about its performance: "The car is very fast." "The only issue is turbo lag which can be annoying while autocrossing. Once it is under boost--look out."

News Flash: I just found a previous owner of this car - twice removed! Furthermore the previous owner is not one of those dreaded ones. He is a friend and member of the LOOP "organization". Hey - don't get any ideas. I'm not a Lotus previous owner match maker! I just got lucky.

Parts include:
  • T25 water cooled Garrett turbo (12 psi boost)
  • 304 stainless steel exhaust header and 3" exhaust throughout
  • SU side-draft carb
  • RayJay variable waste gate
  • Exhaust gas temp gage to keep the exhaust gas temp under 1450F
  • Compression ratio 8.25:1
  • Forged aluminum pistons and con rods
  • Water injection (comes on at 5psi via Hobbs switch in intake manifold)
  • MSD ignition
  • Remote oil filter
  • Oil cooler
  • Supertrap muffler
  • Dyno chart - Note that allowing for a typical 15% power loss factor through the drivetrain, this engine is making around 175hp at the flywheel.
