Geotechnical ServicesGeotechnical engineering draws upon the broad fields of civil engineering and geology. Lourie Consultants' special role is solving foundation and earth structure problems. We do this by applying sound theoretical concepts and practical knowledge of the physical behavior of earth materials. Our services include:
Geoenvironmental ServicesFinding practical solutions to both routine and complex geoenvironmental problems is a primary goal for Lourie Consultants. We use a combination of experienced personnel, proven techniques, and innovative methods to satisfy this goal. Some of the services we offer are:
In addition to the above, we prepare and implement quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) plans and programs for geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects. We also offer other geotechnical and geoenvironmental services using in-house capabilities and through working relationships with other quality service providers. Some of these additional capabilities and services include: soil treatment, stabilization, improvement evaluations using admixtures (lime, cement, flyash, etc.); designing, executing, and interpreting in-situ site characterization programs using electric cone penetrometer tests (CPTs), piezocone penetrometer tests (PCPTs), downhole vane shear testing, electric logging, etc; constructing potentiometric, isopleth, and isopach maps; and conducting statistical evaluations of groundwater quality using interwell and intrawell comparison methods.
