This script requires Camino version 1.6b or higher.
For this script to work properly, you must have some search-shortcut bookmarks in a Collection called "Searches". Open the Camino Bookmark Manager (Cmd-B). The left-hand column lists your Collections. Right- or control-click in the column and choose "New Collection". Type in "Searches" (no quotes) as the new collection's name. Drag your search bookmarks into the new "Searches" Collection folder. (Do not use subfolders.)
Don't know what search-shortcut bookmarks are? This Camino Documentation page explains. Or read on:
A search-shortcut bookmark is the same as any other bookmark except:
To use a search bookmark, type its shortcut and a space followed by a search term into Camino's location bar (not the search bar).
Go to Apple's website and type "applescript" (no quotes) in the website search box (not the Camino search bar). A search results page is loaded with the following URL shown in your location bar:
http://www.apple.com/search/?q=applescript
Bookmark the page to your "Searches" Collection folder. Open the Bookmark Manager and edit the URL, replacing the specific search term "applescript" with the placeholder "%s":
http://www.apple.com/search/?q=%s
Give the bookmark a shortcut, something like, oh, say, "apple". Now type "apple iPhone" (no quotes) into Camino's location bar. You will get an Apple search-results page just as if you'd run the search from the website search box.
Add some more search-shortcut bookmarks to your "Searches" Collection. When you run the "Multi-Site Search" script, you will enter your search term in a dialog box and then choose a subset of sites from a list of your bookmarked searches. Click "OK" and Camino will open new tabs or windows (depending on your Tab Prefs settings) and load search results from each of the chosen sites.
