Las Vegas Plans After years of designing and making animal puzzles, and fighting the same problem - that of puzzle piece number one wanting to hang down in the back, I believe I've finally found the answer... so simple too! On the very first puzzle cut (from the top) of almost any of my animal plans, rather than cutting straight down simply use the trusty old hand clamp to lift the back of the work piece up and cut that first cut on an angle as shown on the right. So... it only took me a few years to figure this one out, I have a good excuse, I'm getting old. ![]() I'm working on, cut the normal way ![]() Don't waste as much wood when cutting the thickness of your parts from a thicker board, click here

The angle cut at the back of puzzle cut #1 will prevent puzzle piece #1 from hanging down. |
