The LXT Group
EPA Vulnerability Assessment Follow Through and Water
Security
The
LXT Group provides rapid, low
cost EPA-compliant
Vulnerability Assessments (VA) and updated Emergency Response Plans
(ERP)
for small and medium sized public water utilities. The deadline
for VA submission
for medium sized utilities (serving a population of 50,000 to 100,000)
was
December 31, 2003, while the deadline for small sized utilities
(serving
a population of 3,300 to 50,000) was June 30, 2004. These
deadlines have now past, but the requirements, mitigation and
management response generated need to be completed to reduce ongoing
risk.
The
LXT Group can provide a
"strike
force" with experts in water security, physical security and cyber
security,
to rapidly and accurately perform the VA and ERP response. Our
personnel have been trained on the RAM-W and VSAT 2.2
methodologies
and can use either methodology (or a blend of both) for the VA follow
through..
A key and unique value that The
LXT Group provides is real world security and water security
experience,
not just "desk work". Our personnel have provided security for the
Secret
Service, defense contractors, the Government agencies such as USAF OSI.
For
example, working with local authorities, our team members
provided continuous, real-time surveillance of potable water at the
Super
Bowl in San Diego on January 26, 2003. We have also designed and
deployed
field systems for the rapid detection of chemical, biological and
nuclear
contaminants in water. We are an active member in the San Diego chapter
of InfraGard, the joint commercial and FBI counter terrorism group. We
have more than 40 man years of experience in
water
policy, administration, engineering and public water supply.
