I see the human condition in color. The vibrant hues of the southwestern desert color my world and it is there my creative, spiritual and family roots are nurtured. With my art, I capture the instinctive and unplanned; private glimpses of sacred moments between souls - Mother and Child, Man and Woman, You and I. Relationships expressed in liquid emotion. My work has percussive rhythm; line, color repetition work to create auras of thunder, hearts, and strings.
I see the human form in nature. This is my inspiration. The evolving relationship between the natural world and the human form is amazing. My work reveals the symbiotic relationship shared between nature and humanity. I focus not on detail, but on the universal beauty and simplicity of life. Deep shading of my subjects allows me to intensify light and contrast. I exaggerate and distort the human figure to deviate from the expected. I feel it is a powerful instrument of expression to lengthen, enlarge, and bend the human form. By doing so, I communicate through paint what many reveal through silent body language.
