this is where the big "lock to travel" quarter-turn "coin twister" lock fits. note: before beginning disassembly of the case, you should probably

1. 'cycle' the scanner one time under power to make sure the head is parked 'where the scanner itself prefers its head be' (which location, by the way isn't the same location as "all the way back on the rod, toward the rear of the case" - don't ask how I know this; I found it out the hard way). and

2. make sure the "big travel lock" is in the UNlocked position, and, fer cryin' out loud, try to avoid disturbing the location of the scan head during this entire procedure...
