every time you spread the halves of the 'clamshell' a little bit further apart, add another stick or pencil, to "hold your progress". again: if you temporarily 'park the job in progress' with sticks, or the like (like I've done here), you risk breaking the bond between the glass and glass frame that surrounds the glass...and, you shouldn't work in direct sunlight (which could heat the plastic some, adding to the risk of glass-bond to frame failures).
