These images were taken at the Status Quo Cemetery on Kazinzcy Utca in July
2004. The Chevra Kadisha building had been enlarged (and a beautiful
doorway removed) since my 1997 visit. Since 2004, part of the cemetery has
collapsed into the underlying wine cellars. Restoration work is being
considered and undertaken by an organization committed to care for Hungarian
Jewish cemeteries.
