Well
I guess I will start this off. The whole idea with this page is to get a little
insight in what our classmates have been up to since graduating from Mahar. So please
send me a High School picture and a current picture and a little bit about what
you have been up to for the last 19 years so we can share it with our
classmates. If you do not have a high school picture I most likely do and if
you do not have a scanner or digital picture send me a e-mail and I will tell
you how to get a picture to me and I will scan it for you. Of course pictures
are not required to participate just send me some info. If this is the first time you have checked
out this page then just scroll through the whole page or you can click on the
links below for the classmate you want to check out and you will be transported
back in time…I hope you all enjoy!!!!

Hello
Classmates! Steve (Peachy) Laffond here. I was trying to avoid
writing this in hopes of telling everyone face to face. You see, my
wife Corina, of 9 years has decided to have a baby - the due date is June
30. Had I known, I would have done something different that evening
about 9 months ago. We are excited about the arrival of our second child.
My daughter, Hannah, just turned 6 years old. Needless to
say, I won't be attending (it wasn't an easy decision).. I read all
of the information posted on this web site and realize I should have been
having my children 15 years ago. A quick
summary on my life. I tried the college life at UMASS and lasted 3
semesters. I had way to much fun and no one made me go to class. I
decided to join the Navy with my brother Tony and Mike Graves (how are you
doing Mike?) Finished my 4 years in the Navy and decided to settle down
in Southern California. I work for a small manufacturing company as the
Sales & Operations Manager. We produce components to convert vehicles
to run on propane, natural gas and hydrogen - AKA, alternative fuels industry.
I have been in the same industry for 12 years. Most of our business is
international, so I do get to travel the world. Something the Navy was
supposed to do for me, but I spent most of my time underwater.... I
am always traveling around the states so I hope to hook up with a few of you in
the near future. Everyone has my email address (gannprod@aol.com) so please drop me a
message if you can. Since I won't be able to attend, this one is on
me...A toast.... "To all my classmates, those that were close
and those that just crossed my path in the hallways. It was fun. I was
fortunate to grow up with all you good people. I wish all of you the best
of luck and hope to make the next reunion (this is the part where you raise the
glasses and drink). Cigar anyone?
God Bless
Steven

"Greetings
fellow classmates! Seeing just a few pictures has already brought back some
memories, and I hope that the Web site will snowball. So I'm doing my part
here.... I'm currently living in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where I've been
for nearly the past 12 years, but it's been sort of a roundabout way getting
here. Immediately after graduation, I spent the summer as a camp counselor down
in Texas, sort of an initiation to independence, I suppose. I went to
undergraduate school in St. Louis , then
on to Ann Arbor, Michigan for more school, where I became a die-hard Michigan
fan. My focus in school was Industrial Engineering, and after looking around a
bit for career tracks, discovered that I really liked the healthcare field and
hospital administration. So then a
couple years later off to Chapel Hill for some formal training in that area,
and I've been here ever since. Currently I'm working for UNC Hospitals doing
operational analysis and modeling, so I'm combining the engineering with the
healthcare. I'm also in the midst of co-authoring a textbook on healthcare
financial management, and I teach one college course a year to graduate
students in simulation modeling. On a more personal level: no wife, no kids, no
pets, no fish, but a couple plants and a good group of friends. "We get by
with a little help from our friends," right? I bought a house back in 1993
and have done a little remodeling on it. I've also gotten to travel some, which
I like to do while I still have the chance. Finally, I've been a volunteer
coach for the local Special Olympics for the past 7-8 years (soccer,
basketball, softball), which I really enjoy a lot. I've certainly gotten as
much from them as I've given. So I'm keeping busy and having fun doing
it."

Hi
everybody Brenda Brown (Barrett) here!
Wow, where to begin...well I've spent the past 20 years raising my son
Michael and trying to figure out what to do with my life. In 1986 I graduated from college with a
degree in Human Services and I've spent all this time working at various
jobs. From 1986-90 I was actively
involved with the anti-apartied movement.
I gave several speechs on apartied in the New England region. In 1992 I met Andy and in 1993 we were
married. For the past few years it's
been me and Andy(Michael's grown up and left the nest) and our various rescued
pets. In November 1998 Andy and I were
involved in the award winning week long
series done by The Recorder called 'Living on the Brink'. The article about us made page 7 of that
weeks Thursday paper. I was working at
the Recorder at that time and we had just moved to Greenfield. We're still in Greenfield and I'm currently
working for F L Roberts, working at Greenfield Exxon as an overnight
cashier. We're just taking one day at a
time. We're not sure yet if we'll make
it to the reunion or not, but with any luck we'll see you all in June

Hello to the class of 1981! Faye
Turner (Holden) here. I guess time has decided to keep on going, and
fast! Did you say Twenty?! Not a whole lot to tell.
I've had the best twenty years and I am looking forward to another 40! At
least.
In July 1981 I got a job
at Erving Paper Mills as a Word Processor. (I remember being upset
because I wanted that particular summer off - my parents were thrilled I
got the job, of course). I stopped working there in 1987 when I had my
first son. During my 6 years at Erving Paper me and my husband,
Jim Turner (who I met at the end of 10th grade), made plans for our
wedding and started building our house. We now have two boys (who
never fight,ha! ha!), Mitch (13) and Mason (11), a dog named Hooch (what other
name could we have with the last name Turner, right?).
I stayed home with the boys until they were
full day in school. To keep sane I started running. Jim and I run
road races here and there. My son Mason ran a race recently and left his
mother in the dust!. I've been an Aerobics Instructor at the Body
Shoppe in Greenfield for eight years now. I went to Whitman's
Academy of Hair Design. I am a Hairdresser at Christopher & Co. Hair
Design in Deerfield. Last, I am definitely a hockey mom! Mitch and
Mason both play hockey on different "travel" teams. Jim and I
just drive separately on weekends. You can find us in most any
rink. Springfield (usually), Keene, Enfield, Stowe, Vermont (those
weekend tournaments are _______ cold!). Jim has been with Vermont
Yankee Nuclear as an electrician for 20 years. Summertime we are
usually on the Connecticut River. Love boating and hanging around the
water.
Hope I didn't bore anyone to death!
Hey, we cannot wait to see everyone. My husband has met many of you and
probably wishes he had such an awesome class as ours!

“What are they doing now"…Well Good
question? (NOTHING MUCH) Robert
Picard here and presently I'm with a
Start-up Company out of Atlanta, Evolution Networks Inc.. Our business
plan is to connect Tier 3 & 4 markets to the Tier 1& 2 Cities for
Broadband Internet Access with Data Centers located along the Network's
Backbone. Laymen's Terms = We hope to bypass the phone company so you can
use you computer like you intended. I'm Director of Operations, with
nothing to operate yet (and funding for this doesn't look good at these
times). I work out of the house (Prosperity PA) half the time and on the
road the rest, mostly Atlanta. I left the Cellular Industry couple years
ago after building and operating Cellular Networks in New England & NY for
12 years. I remarried to Kim Elliot/Sanderson from Tully in 95. As
of this year we are blessed with all 4 kids living under our
roof. Her two girls, Ashley 15 & Allura 12. My two, Matt 17 and
Nancy 12 ( I will look like I
have aged). If anybody is traveling through South Western Penn. feel free
to drop in and take a load off, "We'll leave a light on", "Kids
Eat Free.", "Topless Pets" (I made the last one up, but
they are topless)

Hello all!!! Allan “Skip” Bixby here. Here is a brief history of my life since
graduation. I went to UMASS and got my degree in forestry and
worked in the field for a few years. Then I moved on and got a job at Massachusetts Electric Co. and have been
with them for 12 years. I built a log cabin in the field where we had our
graduation party ( Wow! remember that night!! my parents never will forget
it!…) I stay busy with my job, and I do a lot of hunting and fishing. Mike
Goudie and I still see alot of each other, he and his wife Gina live in Saugus,
MA. I had some serious surgery in August of 2000 and was out of work for 4
months but I'm doing a lot better now. Nothing earthshaking I guess, but I
enjoy my quiet life in New Salem. Looking forward to the reunion.

Hey classmates this is Jay Spadafora,
I hope you are all well. The attached coupon is for anyone who travels to
the Chicago area. It's redeemable for a few cold pops. Let me know
at jayspad@ansimag.com. I've been living in Chicago for seven years now (although I
moved from downtown to the suburbs last year). I am the sales manager for
a Chicago division of United Technologies, headquartered in Connecticut.
I did get married two years ago but then got unmarried a little over 12 months
later- long story (I'll spare you the details). I have fond memories of
the Mahar days and really look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.
Take care! Jay

Submarines as the ship's "doc" and Radiation Health Officer.
