Makanacoon Cattery is very proud of the cats in our breeding program and the outstanding quality they produce.  Cats in our breeding program are carefully chosen based on pedigree and health history.

All Makanacoon cats are vaccinated for FVRCP (rhinotracheitis, calici, and panleukopenia) annually, and Rabies every 3 years.  

Breeding cats are screened for HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy), and tested for Feline Leukemia (FELV) and Fel ine Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).

It has taken 10 years to develop a test for SMA - Spinal Muscular Atrophy and Makanacoon Cattery is proud to announce that we have started testing our breeding cats for SMA as well.

Our kittens are vaccinated according to the latest AVHA protocols.  These call for an FVRCP vaccination at 9 and 12 weeks of age, and Rabies at 4 months old.  New owners are responsible for the 2nd FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations.

Our kittens go to their new homes very much "people-oriented", with excellent social skills and wonderful "purrsonalities".  They are exceptional companions for people of all ages, as well as for other pets.
