Clancy is a wonderful, sweet, deep vibrant red boy who came to us from Sandra Sterling of Cooneyisle Cattery just before Sandra retired to Florida. I had many mixed emotions about getting Clancy - happiness to get such a lovely boy, but also sadness because I knew Sandy hated to part with him. Clancy became a Grand Champion very quickly, finishing the required points at the Winchester, VA show in the summer of 2003. Clancy talks all the time and is our own Chatty Kathy Boy! He loves to look out the windows of his room to see the birds feed at the bird feeder. But his favorite thing is to be allowed to stay in our bedroom for a few days at a time to just be a regular ol' kitty. It's really funny to see him lay on the bed and kick his back feet against his stomach because he's so happy and excited. Like all our other whole males, Clancy does not spray. To date he has fathered some lovely kittens, one of which is the Grand Premier we are presently showing - GP Makanacoon's For Lion Out Loud. We are pleased to announce that Clancy was tested for SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) and was found to be a non-carrier. |

Acey is a very special boy to me. He was owned by my dear friend Susan Lymbouris of Cremocrop Cattery who started me out with my first Show Maine Coon in 1994. As one of my mentors, Susan taught me about the breed, raising kittens, and showing. In the years we knew each other, despite some hard times, we remained friends, and not too many days went by that we didn't have a conversation with each other about our cats. We were there for each other through a lot of ups and downs, and traveled to shows together for almost 12 years. On June 20, 2006, we lost Susie to lung cancer. I still feel devastated, and still feel the pain of not having her around to talk to and spend time with. Before Susie passed away, she asked that I take Acey and use him as a stud in my cattery so that his pedigree could continue in his kittens. I felt honored to do this, and today, Acey is siring some lovely cats whose lineage goes back to early Cremocrop, Makanacoon, Purricoon, and Heidi Ho lines. GC Makanacoon's Remmington of Oldwestcoons and CH Makanacoon's Ice Sparkle of Alopeke are examples of two of his offspring that have done and are doing well in shows now! If Susie could see what beautiful kittens Acey is throwing, she would be so happy! We are humbled that we have been able to play a small part in helping to keep the memeory of Susie and Cremocrop alive, in the years to come, through this wonderful silver boy that Susie affectionalty called "Acey Mac". |

We were very excited to get Purrbodys Boomerang from Karen Hullander and Ann Brna of Purrbodys Cattery. Boomer is what is called an F-5 generation foundation cat. This means that 5 generations back, a very special cat was bred to a Maine Coon, and an offspring was kept which was called an F-1 (a new, one generation part Maine Coon). The F-1 cat was bred to a nice Pedigreed Registered Maine Coon, and the best kitten kept which was called an F-2. The F-2 in turn was bred to a very nice Pedigreed Registered Maine Coon, with the best kitten kept which was called an F-3. This breeding continued until Boomerang was born as an F-5 generation Maine Coon. Today, Boomerang is being bred to Registered Makanacoon Females with their offspring being called F-6 generation Maine Coons. The CFA Association recognizes the F-6 generation cats as showable, so all the offspring can compete in shows for titles. It's through the hard work of breeders willing to work with new foundation lines, that the Maine Coon gene pool is opened up to new cats and new possibilities. With Boomerang, we know that most of his ancestors were cardioed, with health being of utmost importance. We are thrilled to continue the hard work that went behind Boomerang, and are pleased to do our part to continue his lineage. The litters that we have gotten from Boomerang have been wonderful in temperament, boning, and coat. Boomerang is a very gentle soul, and very pleasing to the eye. We love his little black diamond spot on his nose, and loving the Black Smoke color, are thrilled that the High White is added to it. This makes the color possibilities very exciting in his offspring, and different. His very favorite thing is to ge a scoop of Royal Canin Baby Cat, which he LOVES! ** Photo of Boomerang courtesy of Ann Brna and Phil Bornemeier ** |

Named after a successful race horse, Whirlie has definitely whirled a way of success through his show career and into many people's hearts. He got many compliments from friends, breeders, and judges at shows as he placed over 200 other champions to become a Grand Champion. Whirlie's favorite pastime is to go to the Flex Gym in Virginia Beach where he is allowed to sit up on a stool and greet all the men and women who come there to work out. He is a sweet, quiet, gentleman; but when it comes to meeting people, he becomes a very animated boy. He is replacing his father, GC J-Nine's Go 4 The-Gusto of Makanacoon as one of our top breeding males. (click here to see a photo of Whirlie with his dad, Gus) |
