I'm Pat Taylor, Welcome to Makanacoon Cattery

Makanacoon, the home of Beautiful Flowers and Exquisite Maine Coon Cats
After one visit to our home, you're sure to appreciate just how much it reflects our love for nature and animals.

Our gardens abound with the blooms of over 140 fragrant rose bushes, and hundreds of varieties of flowers.
Of course, some of our flowers are Hawaiian!

This photo was taken in May 2009 showing our garden during a huge thunderstorm.
They say that April showers bring May flowers, and boy are they right this year.
With cooler temperatures and more rain than usual, our gardenas are flourishing!

GRP Makanacoon's Buddy, CH Makanacoon's Follow Your Rainbow, & GC Makanacoon's Jeepers Peepers
Above is a photo of three of our Maine Coons, who are all different in looks, successful
in their show careers, and we feel, good examples of the Maine Coon breed standard.

Along with our Maine Coon cats, we share our home with other animals.

Then...
2000

This is Hulia, also known as Trigger.
She is never alone and always has a few kitty
buddies that hang around her day and night.

Now...

Hulia enjoying a romp on a beautiful sunny day at Virginia Beach, VA in October 2009...
The water, breeze, and smells are wonderful!

We always joke that we live in a home full of Maine Coons, and then there's Whinney!!
Whinney is a little Burmese that I've known and loved since she was a baby.
Bred and shown by her breeder, Kathy Rutledge of Tigerwing Cattery, we were overjoyed to be given
Whinney when she retired from being a Mom this year.   Little as she is, she packs a hard wallop, and
rules the coon roost around here.   How can you help but love her sweet little face?  HaHa.

Our cats love to sit and watch our tropical fish for kitty entertainment.
There have been times they have gone fishing, and actually made "the catch of the day".

In the fall of 2003, my dreams came true and I was able to get back into my lifelong love of horses.
Thanks to Tim and Diana Fox of Carousel Farm Training Center and Alopeke Cattery
of Franklinton, NC I acquired Dakota, my big beautiful palomino lover boy!
MAHALO NUI Tim & Diana...more than words can express.   We became friends right off,
and I was so PROUD when you Grand Championed your first Maine Coon -
GC Makanacoon's A Carousel 4 Willow, a female at that!!  And now Willow has produced 5 beautiful
Alopeke babies for you, and you are officially breeders.  Aloha au ia oe! (I love you!)
Of course, Mable Crest Farm in Suffolk, VA where Dakota lives, has 5 Makanacoon Maine Coons in their home.

Dakota lives a very happy life at Karen's beautiful farm known as Maple Crest Farm in Suffolk, VA.
As you can see Karen is a Maine Coon lover who owns 5 of our cats.    Karen is not only a lover of all
animals, but a horse enthusiast, a fabulous trainer, and the most hard-working woman I have ever known.
When you walked into my home that first day, Karen, to see what a Maine Coon was, you changed
my life forever.    Your positive spirit and example is an inspiration to all of us around you.   Right Kasey?
