Boys Athletics 1952

Abraham Lincoln High School, Los Angeles 90031

Athletics at Lincoln started with the first Interscolastic Athletic Competition in the city of Los Angeles. In the early 1920's there were only seven high schools in the entire city. These schools were: LA High, Jefferson, Manuel Arts, Poly, Hollywood, Franklin, and Lincoln. These seven schools made up the "City League" and the League winner was the city champion.
Coach Frank L. Malette in some thirty years of service to Lincoln as Athletic Director and Head Coach has seen, in those years, the development and rise to local, National and even International fame of some of our Lincoln athletes.
