(above) this picture is standing in the driveway looking out over Lotus Pond - the sidewalk to front door is on the left. the holly bush on the left that is "legged up" has a cardinal nest in it. tam and i sit under the trees in between the ponds and watch the mother and father cardinal fly in and out to feed the baby birds. of course every time mom or dad shows up all the babies start peeping like crazy. we can see the nest in the bush very easily, but haven't wanted to bother it so we haven't seen the baby birds inside yet.
