New Orleans Municipal Marina

Group 3 photos of the marina and West End Park

Landlocked

This boat floated across the street and landed in the 1-acre duck pond in West End Park. At least provisioning for the next cruise will be easy....

Honey - I said Back Down!!

The trawler skipper's mate obviously heard me - why couldn't you?

Downhill Run

Well... trawlers are known for greater backing power as compared to sailboats.

New Orleans Yacht Club

This is also the Harbormaster office.

Boathouses - N Docks

Looking NW from the Quay towards the Harbormaster office.

Boathouses 2 - N Docks

Looking N from NOYC. Note the woodie in the far boathouse. Always a shame to lose one of those...

Boathouses 3 - N Docks

Looking N, open water is on the left. These units bore the full force of the NW semicircle as Katrina roared up the lake. Further north, Slidell LA got slammed by the more dangerous NE semicircle.

FSBO

This owner has a sense of humor... sign in the carport says "slight water damage."

Boatyards

View looking towards Shuberts Marine. The big Gulfstar on the right had at least 3 holes in her and was down by the bow.

Boatyards 2

Lots of boats in need of a good sailmaker....
