9 July 2000 |
Think I may have this sleep thing beat. I took 10 days off work and refused to take Ambien no matter how much I wanted to sleep. Some nights I slept without a problem. Others, I laid awake for a couple hours. One night, I did take a third tablet of Ambien because I had a doctors appointment the next morning. I leave for a trip to Mississippi tomorrow. |

Couldn't sleep naturally on the trip to Mississippi. When I got home I did sleep naturally, although it took a while on Friday (didn't get back from the airport until 2300 hours). I think I figured out the killer headaches (had one all day Saturday). They seem to be tied to not sleeping well. |

Still fighting the sleep problem. One night I'll lay awake all night. Another night, I wake at various times. Leave on a trip to Texas tomorrow. I had to get some sleep for meetings all week. The only way I could sleep was by taking Ambien. |

I'm still fighting the sleep thing. Five day weekend and I refuse to take Ambien. I lay awake for a couple hours and kind of sleep. I find if I lay awake, I get a killer headache. I take a couple Excedrin PM which seems to take care of the headache and helps me sleep a little. |

19 October 2000 |
When I woke my right leg would not cooperate. I could not complete a step. It just kind of dragged along. Later that day, it went back to "normal". |

Last time I saw the neurologist, he tested me for carpal-tunnel syndrome. He said I had it a little in my right arm and prescribed a wrist brace. When I use a mouse (I've used a wrist supporting mouse pad for years), my whole hand gets cold and sometimes sore, even with the wrist support. I think it's more from the MS than from carpal-tunnel syndrome. |

Still having trouble with my wrist. The cold/sore feeling lasts for some time after using a mouse. I've tried a Logitech track ball which seems to help some. In the morning my wrist feels OK. In two weeks we move to Virginia. About a three day drive with two dogs in a small car. Still getting the headaches and still taking a third of a tablet of Ambien to sleep. My legs and arms feel weaker. |
