Updates 2003

28 February 2003

Taking the maximum dosage of Baclofen and the maximum dosage of Tizanidine (Zanaflex).  My stomach area is still very uncomfortable almost all the time.  Walking is getting very difficult.  At night I can barely make it from one side of the house to the other.

Had hernia (two) surgery today.  It wouldn't be so bad by itself, but combined with MS it's something.  When I can move, I don't want to because it hurts.  I spend a lot of time laying down in bed reading with ice packs.  I can't read too long because my hands go numb real fast from trying to hold the book up.  Some good news.  My job is moving to San Antonio, Texas.  I found out I'll be able to stay here and work "virtually" since most of what I do is electronic (e.g., via E-mail).  Just the thought of another move is very stressful.

20 July 2003

My hands hurt all the time.  They are getting very weak, mainly the right.  My legs have gotten a twitch (especially the right).  I'm using the scooter to get into work, all day at work, back and forth to lunch, and then after work.  I don't use it at home, but I think I'm not far from needing a walker.  I found taking Excedrin (aspirin free) helps with my stomach.

25 July 2003

Had my last Novantrone treatment.  The neurologist thinks I've had enough (toxic over time).  It doesn't seem to be doing much anyway.

1 September 2003

Bought a walker.  I can barely walk.  My right leg drags like it's paralyzed and the left is getting very weak.  I use the walker at home, mostly a night.  It may me realize how weak my arms are.
