Updates 2007
5 May 2007 I've had six infusions of Tysabri.  So far, so good (I'm not dead and haven't noticed any side effects).  The nurse that does the infusion has a hard time with my veins.  The last two times, she stuck me 4 then 5 times before she called in someone else.  That person got it on the first try.  I continue to get weaker.  I can't even stand or sit up straight these days.  I look like an old man.  My hands hurt all the time.  The neurologist said its not connected to MS.  I've had two carpel-tunnel tests and then came out fine.  By the end of he day, I can hardly hold a fork (definitely MS connected).
25 June 2007 I woke up with a fever after hardly sleeping.  I made it to the computer to send an E-mail to my boss telling him I would not be in and went back to sleep.  When I woke up this time I could barley move.  I kind of slid off the bed and sat on the floor for a couple hours.  I thought it might be Tysabri connected because I had the transfusion two days before.  The neurologist said It was not connected.  He called it an extreme exasperation.  I started feeling better as my fever broke.
12 July 2007 Another pill.  My urologist prescribed FloMax to try and calm my bladder a little.  In a way it's kind of funny.  One pill to help me go and another to stop me.  The never ending joys of MS.
10 November 2007 Once again, another new pill.  My family doctor sent me for another carpel-tunnel test.   This one came out with a different result.  The person who administered the test said I had a little carpel-tunnel in my left hand and none in my right.  He thinks the problem with the right is a pinched nerve in the elbow.  The family doctor prescribed Ultram (basically a pain medicine).  It helps some, but definitely better than without in.
