Tools: Tools: Textbook, three ring binder with lined paper, pencils, erasers.
Policies:
ü
Quizzes: Quizzes are given at least once per week. Announced a week before. They generally cover one or 2 sections of material. (100 points, 8 to 10 per quarter).ü
Homework: Homework is assigned daily, and is checked at the beginning of class, and collected. Each homework assignment is worth 2 points. Incomplete homework, or late homework (less than a week) is worth 1 point. Missing homework receives no credit. Remember that homework is your chance to PRACTICE the topic that is covered in class.ü
Graded HW: Graded homework is collected at least once per week. Four or five selected problems will be reviewed (10 points). This may also include any class work dittos. These assignments will not be announced. If you do poorly because you are not sure of the material reviewed on these assignments, the assignment can be redone. It is your responsibility to get the revised assignment to me.ü
Performance Tasks: “Blue sheets”… These tasks are designed to enhance the students’ problem solving skills. Typically these assignments are weekly, long-term assignments. The assignments are graded out of 10 points. I usually drop the lowest grade.ü
Makeup: Homework is due at the next class meeting. Quizzes are one shot only, no makeup's are allowed.ü
Absence: If you are absent be sure that you get the homework assignments from a friend. Quizzes must be made up with in one week of your return. If you are absent the day before a quiz you are responsible for that assignment.ü Extra Help: I am in the Math office before and after school, as well as during team period. DON’T wait until the test to get help. DO it as soon as you need the help!!!!!!!
