Dr. Michael A. Weissman is a developer of imaging products who has broad technical and application expertise. He has extensive experience with video cameras and displays – and with the software and processing that connect the former to the latter. Holding positions at multiple levels of responsibility (consultant, software engineer, systems engineer, research scientist, project manager, and founder/president of a small company), Dr. Weissman has applied his expertise to a wide range of applications (including medical endoscopy, microscopy, measurement systems, machine vision, photogrammetry, and head-mounted and other innovative displays).

Of particular importance is his work in stereoscopic (3D) imaging, a field of specialization since 1987. Dr. Weissman’s earliest contribution in this area was the first commercial stereoscopic imaging system to run on PC computers; his most recent is a 3D medical endoscopy system. In this field alone, he has developed real-time 3D camera and display systems, developed software and algorithms for 3D processing and measurements, led product development teams, filed three patents and disclosures, served on professional committees, and published numerous papers, articles, reports and software applications.
