Description and Fees
We are registered as a
Trading Assistant on eBay.
Recap: The customer brings in their clean, saleable items that would expect to
sell for $100.00 dollars or more, and provides as much information as possible
about the item. MBP will photograph, list, offer and sell the goods on
eBay, collect the sales price from
the buyer, deliver the goods to the buyer, deduct Mail Boxes Plus’s sales
fee, eBay fees, and PayPal fees, and forward the remainder of the sales price
to seller.
How much will I make? On a $100.00 sale, you will receive
approximately 60% to 65% of the sales amount, or $60.00 to $65.00 dollars. On a
$200.00 sale, you will receive approximately 66% to 70% of the sales amount, or
$134.00 to $140.00 dollars. MBP charges an upfront $5.00 dollar listing fee per
item, plus 20% of the final selling price. So the total of MBP, eBay, and
PayPal fees is in the 30% to 40% range. We have detailed charts in the store to
show you the breakdowns, and how much you would net under various
circumstances.
How long until I get paid? Depending on how much research we need to
do on the item, how many items we have to list, and other variables, it will
take 3 to 7 days for your auction to start. Most auctions run for 7 days. The
buyer has up to 7 days to pay. Shipping can take 5 or more days, and 5 days are
allowed after buyers receipt to notify of return. So typically about 1 month after you bring
your items in, you will receive your payment. It is possible to happen as quick as 2
weeks, or as long as 6 weeks.
Payment to Seller: The Seller must provide us with
a valid driver’s license or other suitable photo identification with
address. We will photocopy the identification, and the payment to the Seller
will be made by a check from Mail Boxes Plus, and mailed to the address on the
photo identification. There are no exceptions to this process.
Customer Items List: Each item will be recorded on
this list when you bring it in to be listed. This will indicate starting price,
minimum selling price, listing options, etc.
Agreement to sign: The lawyers made us do it.
There is a contract all customers must read and sign which spells out all terms
and conditions.
