Another week gone by, still no swimming. Huge shocker. Work is proceeding though. This week they put in most of the coping (the edges of the pool). It's starting to look more like a real pool rather than just a big concrete pit:

They also delivered a BIG pile of gravel. Not really all that interesting except that they piled in in front of the house . . .

. . .which apparently is in violation of some sort of city ordinance and a neighbor told me that an inspector saw it. We are expecting some sort of citation or notice from the city. Which will in turn be passed on to our contractor. All these things I never knew and never wanted to know . . .

As a result of the mis-placed gravel, we seem to have lost most of yesterday as the workers had to move all the gravel to another location. They did it a wheelbarrow-full at a time. I can only guess how long that took. This is why we now hire people. I'm no good with a wheelbarrow.

At least things are stable on the inside. Petey is still tormenting Little Boy, but he also tries to help around the house. For instance, I was taking laundry out of the dryer and Petey just wanted to lend a helping hand/paw:
