Pool guy reported bright and early today (7 weekdays in a row). I would post new pics, but all he is really doing at this point is running pipes and gas lines. Not a whole lot to see. I did take a couple pics of the equipment, but I don't think that is all that interesting. So far they are on schedule but I expect them to fall behind starting this week. Our timeline says they are supposed to add the gunite to the pool this week and I suspect that will not happen (hopefully I'm wrong!).

Other than that, not much new. Petey is doing well. All 3 cats will now be in the same room together. That really is progress. Still hissing and growling but no fighting. Baby steps . . .

5 days in a row! Workers showed up again today right before 7 a.m. Maybe we will actually be able to swim this summer!

It's been a busy week! The pool guys were back out on Wednesday and today (at 7 a.m. nonetheless). The pool is now all rebarred (is that a word?). They are still running all the piping and our whole yard is now a bunch of trenches. Latest pics:

On an entirely different note, here are some pics of the latest addition to our home:

No, that's not Little Boy. Yes, we got another kitty. And allow me to erase any fears about what the little guy is named: his name is Petey (not "Baby Boy" or anything like that. After all, who would give a cat such a silly name?). He's mostly black (obviously) but has a little white on his neck and his tummy. Little Boy and Little Girl are none to happy about his appearance in their world. We're still trying to acclimate them. Everyone keep your fingers crossed that the transition gets better!

See ya!

Sorry for the delay. I expect a lot of those. But, as scheduled, the pool people were back out Monday and Tuesday. The piping is going in. Looks like they run the lines for the gas to the fireplace and BBQ too. Here are a couple of pics:

We were told that the process on the pool is V E R Y slow. So far this has been true. We have also been told that once the pool is in, the rest goes pretty fast. We shall see. . .

Nothing new to report, except that I was dead on - no more work this week . . .

Here is what we woke up to today:

And here is what we came home to:

I must admit that I am pretty impressed with all that they got done today. Probably means nothing else will happen this week . . .

They're digging! They actually arrived bright and early at around 7:30 a.m. this morning. I actually got stuck in the garage because there was a huge truck in the driveway. I had to wait until they had loaded it full of dirt (which luckily didn't take long). I'll post some pics tonight!

The pool is supposed to be dug tomorrow. Naturally, it has already been delayed. I expect the delays to be more regular than the work.

Anyway, the pool company said that the ground is so compacted that it will be too hard to dig (funny, I thought that a backhoe could dig just about anything). They soaked the ground all day Friday (can't wait to see that water bill), and asked us to do the same over the weekend. Here's what it looks like very wet and muddy.

The very first thing that the contractors did was outline the pool in bright orange chalk. The outline might not be very visible, but here are a couple of pictures:

We are all settled in and now get to watch the yard take shape. I thought I would share it with you all (pretty soon all of the cousins will have their own sites!).

Here's the starting picture of the yard:

Or a more pretty picture of the view:
