Click Here to Read or Post a Comment I guess I'll make do with the bird pics for now: Here are the two green babies at about 3 weeks old: Grandma holding the gimpy bird: Here's one that shows the poor blue bird's problem. He just sticks his legs straight out and doesn't bend them. As a result, he doesn't stand: But Dr. Barb is working on him. She consulted with a local bird expert who told her what to do (involves taping his legs and immobilizing him for a few days). Hopefully it will work. The most recent pic of the two green ones: At this point, I could just post pics of the parents and no one would be able to tell the difference. The one thing we are lacking is NAMES!! Vote here for what the three birds should be named.

Click Here to Read or Post a Comment This is a pic of the view from our bungalow:
And here is a pic of the lower sun deck of our bungalow:
Here are a couple of pictures of fish. These were taken with just my digital camera from over the water. And the water is actually about 4 feet deep (doesn't look like it). Just want to make sure you understand how clear the water really is:
This one is of the sting ray I told you about:
As you know, I love the sunset pics. The latest:
Meanwhile, can you believe how big my banana plants got while I was gone:
Just kidding. Had to take some banana pics for Connor. That's about it for now. I'll post more later.

Click Here to Read or Post a Comment Anyone care to guess???? Anyone? Ok, I'll fess up. Nicole is going to have a baby come July!!! I am so excited and happy for their family! And I think that puts dad squarely in the lead on the number of grandkids! I'll post pics later. Will just let this sink in for everyone!

Click Here to Read or Post a Comment To tide you over until I post some picks, I'll make a list of a few ways Moorea is different from here: 1. Mixed drinks cost about $11-15 (yes per drink!). Luckily the beers were really about the same price. We drank a lot of beer. No comments please about leading off with the alcohol issues. 2. Chicken in the airport (and on the runway). Actually, there are chickens and roosters (and all sorts of other birds) just about everywhere (which I liked). There were some houses near our bungalow and the occupants owned a couple of roosters. Clearly the old story about roosters crowing when the sun comes up is a bunch of crap. They crowed pretty much all the time. 3. Bungalows on stilts over the beautifully clear lagoon. Nuf' said. 4. Sting rays and eels in the lagoon under the bungalow. Yes, we still snorkeled, just kept our eyes open. There were lots of other pretty and less scary fish too. 5. Every possible American song converted into a Tahitian one, complete with ukelele and what sounded like an accordian. These included songs by: the Beatles, Linda Ronstadt, Kenny Rogers, and, best of all, Boy George. It was pretty frightening to hear Kharma Chameleon follwed by Blue Bayou, sung by the same person. I'm sure there's more, but frankly, it's just depressing thinking about it right now. . .

Yes, we will be in one of the huts over the water. How excited am I?!?!? Meanwhile, on the bird front, this was taken 11/10 - 19 days old: They really are starting to look like birds. Dad sent another pic of me holding the bird but it was none too flattering of either the bird or me so alas, it will not be posted. Sorry dad. My website, my filtering. . . I'll try to post some yard pics before I leave, but with all the snide comments and ingratitude from the peanut gallery I just may not! And now both Laura and Dana are banned from the fabulousness of the yard as a result of their negative attitudes. If I don't post before I leave, no updates for a while. Perhaps Dana can take over the bird pics for a while? I know that you all might die without new pics. . .

Click Here to Read or Post a Comment But the pool is filled. Looks great. They are just doing the last work in the yard (lighting, etc.). I have a final walkthrough tomorrow. Really almost done. I will try to take some pics soon. Meanwhile, dad & Barb have been very good about sending bird pics. Here are a couple: This was taken 11/5 - 14 days old: This was taken 11/7 - 16 days old: As you can see, they will have two more yellow birds and a blue one! That's it for now. Have a great day!

Click Here to Read or Post a Comment Plaster was originally supposed to go in tomorrow and be finished Saturday, but I guess they moved it up a day. We will have water in the pool this weekend! (But I don't know if the equipment will be working so I'm not sure my dreams of soaking in the spa will pan out.) They finally are wrapping things up. Plants are planted. We even have grass (which really made it look like a yard). Lighting in going in and they are doing clean up work. I'll try to take a bunch of pics this weekend so you can see the mostly finished project. We even used the fireplace and BBQ this past weekend. It's almost over. But what will I post about then??
