1:41 PM Butterflies As promised, I'm posting several butterfly pictures. These were taken on my trip to St. Louis. Tom, Lois & I visited a place called the "Butterfly House", an exhibit of butterflies (naturally). The main part of the tour is a huge greenhouse which contains thousands of butterflies. You get to go in and walk around with all the butterflies everywhere. It was really neat. Blue Butterfly: ![]() Red Butterfly: ![]() Check out the butterflies on the wall. These are ones that have "eyes" on their wings. ![]() Black Butterfly: ![]() This is the inside of the ones with eyes: ![]() Another Black One: ![]() Here's a kind of funny looking butterfly that was out front: ![]() Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Click Here to Read or Post a Comment First, the tulips: ![]() And at the zoo, here are the polar bears: ![]() ![]() Please note that this was shortly before it started raining on us and we literally had to run for the car. As a result, not too many zoo pics. But at least the polar bears looked happier that we were. Luckily the weather was nice (after we left the zoo) so we were able to spend lots of quality time on the screened porch. I took about a gazillion pictures of the birds on the feeders but only about two come out halfway decently. Here's one of a finch waiting for the feeder: ![]() And here's one of the Blue Jay that built a nest in one of the trees right off of the porch. ![]() Lois tells me that the eggs have now hatched and you can see both Mama and Papa bird feeding the babies. Coming soon: Pictures of many butterflies from the Butterfly House (the new must see exhibit in STL) as well as pictures of the birds and the Evil Unstoppable Bunny in our yard. Bet you can't wait.

Click Here to Read or Post a Comment Here's a picture of the Birthday Boy with his cake: ![]() I didn't take too many other pictures, but had to share one of Connor's new and improved, state of the art computer set up in his room: ![]() Yes, he does have and use 4 monitors. And you can see that his tower is almost as tall as the desk. Unfortunately I couldn't capture his surround sound setup, though he did encourage me to take pictures of the speakers. As I said, the Geiger Family was also down. Here's a cute shot of little Phillip: ![]() He is such a cutie!! But then all of my nieces and nephews are. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Thanks again to Barb for being such a wonderful hostess! It was great to see everyone. P.S. More pics to follow this week on a variety of subjects.

Click Here to Read or Post a Comment Pollo a la Pope And a picture: It even has its own website: Pope Chicken Breast Yes, the seller thinks the foregoing chicken breast bears the image of the recently passed Pope John Paul II. I quote: "I could not believe the resemblance I saw between my piece of chicken breast and him." Whaaaaat? I guess I can sort of see a face (I think), but the Pope?? Methinks that this person either (1) Had never seen the former Pope before or, more likely (2) Raided the freezer after getting hit with some sort of chemically induced munchie fit. That would certainly explain his/her hallucination about the Pope. Besides, if it looks like anything, it looks like the profile of an Indian with a headband and long braids. But I guess there is just not much money in that. As always, the bids are ridiculous - currently at $162.00. For a chicken breast of questionable origin (I don't even want to know what was sprinkled on it). I wonder what that comes out to per pound? Note to self - check chicken in freezer to determine if any religious icons happen to be present.

Click Here to Read or Post a Comment I am very bored. (But not really motivated or creative enough to generate a real post.) So I just checked my trackers. And there is was in all of it's glory. This past Sunday, someone searched on Yahoo for "working, worked, Aldi's" and ended up on my site. A search for Aldi's led someone to our site. I can feel Lois' pride all the way from St. Louis. . . |
