Coffee Disaster
We had a coffee disaster earlier this week. A disaster beyond compare. Worse even than not being able to find a Starbuck's when you are craving an Eggnog Latte or Caramel Macchiato. Those of you who I have converted to my ways might be able to guess the nature of the disaster and can relate.
For the unconverted, the disaster was the untimely demise of the Fabulous Milk Frother. Yes, my milk frother died. I'm still coming to grips with it. I loved that frother. Used it every day. Bought duplicates for many family members nationwide and got them hooked on the wonder that is frothy milk.
It started out like any other day. Mark, being the wonderful hubby that he is, made me coffee. When it was ready, I got my milk and was ready to froth up a storm. But when I tried to turn on the frother, it barely spun at all. Just sort of wiggled. And wiggling does not a good froth make.
"No worries," I thought to myself, "just need new batteries." So I changed them. More wiggling, no froth. So I tried yet another set of batteries. Again, no froth. Given that the odds were small that three different sets of batteries were all bad, I had to accept the reality of the situation. The frother was history. At that point the panic set in. Coffee without froth? Impossible!! But alas it was true. There is no froth to be had in our house. And we have been completely frothless for three whole days now. Withdrawal is setting in.
I reached a new low this morning when I considered trying to create froth with the electric mixer. At that point I realized that I had a problem. "Hello, my name is Sarah, and I'm a frothoholic." However, given that I don't think there is such a thing as Frothers Anonymous, I will have to resort to Plan B.
Off to Williams Sonoma today. Maybe I should buy a back-up frother just in case.
