I was born a poor black child… (that
might be funny if you’ve seen The Jerk!)
My fundraising
page and the newspaper
article and the wonderful
people I associate with pretty much say it all, but I guess I could=
add
that my favorite color is blue and that I’m very aware that we on=
ly
have one go’round in life. I need to find a job after the=
ride,
but I’ve been a software engineer, a personal living skills
counselor, and a salesperson.
Volunteer work has been a very important part of my
life. If you think you ha=
ve it
tough, usually a visit with those far less unfortunate will put a better
spin on things, I always say.
And if you have a chance to give back to communities which have
supported you, then there’s a nice balance in life.
So I’ve been actively involved in my synagogue for=
17
years, and in my kids’ schools.&=
nbsp;
I also serve on the Transportation Commission for my city, which=
is
a blast. So I’ve do=
ne a
lot of cool things: relig=
ious
school chair, ways and means chair, PTO treasurer, exchange student host
family, and more. It̵=
7;s
been a wonderful ride for the most part!!
I have 2 great kids, aged 17 and 13 in July. My daughter is the most adorab=
le
thing in the world – she always beats me at bowling!! My boy was diagnosed with auti=
sm at
age 3, but the doctor says now he is just “quirky” – =
he
is the love of my life (that’s him below with Lucky the Dog)! My wonderful mom just moved in=
with
me and is driving my support vehicle for this ride, so she deserves SPE=
CIAL
THANKS (Hi Mom!). Then I =
am
blessed with a million friends and other family members that have all b=
een
there for me. I appreciat=
e them
all, every one.
I’m looking forward to biking and camping with 50+
cool people this summer, and meeting a multitude of other wonderful peo=
ple
in towns along the way. H=
ope
you enjoy my website – it was done with a lot of help from Ruth A=
nne.
