Gretchen Perea, MS, RD, and Outpatient Dietitian at Mission Hospital will give us an update on diabetes and why we as heart patients need to be watchful. Gretchen has been a Registered Dietitian for 17 years and soon will have her Certified Diabetes Educators Certificate. She has worked in nutrition education, public health, and maternal and child health. For the past nine years she has focused on diabetes education and medical nutrition therapy for diabetes. Gretchen has worked at Mission Hospital since 2001, the first 7 years as the Diabetes Educator Coordinator in Community Health and the last 2 years as the Outpatient Dietitian in Sports and Wellness. This is an extremely important subject to all of us. Diabetes is treatable and we need to know how to protect ourselves. The meeting is at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 18, in the Conference Center at Mission Hospital. The Hospital will provide refreshments starting at 6:30. This is our last meeting before Summer break so we look forward to seeing all of you there. |
