Pre-rally instructions

In addition to using your textbook to learn about the United States , we are going to use the power of the Internet. We are going to race across the United States one region at a time. We will travel through the Northeast, South, Middle West , and West with a different activity at each pit stop. We will learn about the economy, agriculture, famous people and landmarks of each region, as well the explorers who first came to each region. You will need to bring a travel log with you on this race across the country to keep track of your progress and the information you have collected.

As you study each region in class, you will be divided into groups of two to four students to complete a project for each region. You will need to explore several websites and keep a record of your information in your travel log so that you will be able to complete your project for that region.

Each person within the group will be assigned to be an expert in areas of interest in each region.
