Originally called the "Major Sharp Cemetery", it
is located on hill north of east of Sharp Springs pumping station for Winchester
water supply (in 1972 on north bank of Tim's s Ford Reservoir several yards west
on Sharp Springs Road). Some tombstones are in bad shape. The cemetery is among
trees and vandalism is evident on some stones. Land lately owned by E. E.
Chattin owner of former Southern Nursery. Workers were probably sent to dig
vines in this area. Copied by Billie and Hall Burks (circa 1972). |
