The Middle Georgia Model Railroad Club was formed in the 1970s, and the active membership is near
20. Although the club has had permanent layouts in the Elberta Depot and the Warner Robins Depot, we
currently meet at My Father's Place restaurant on Moody Rd. in Warner Robins, on the third Tuesday of
every month. We've solved the problem of not having a permanent clubhouse and layout in two ways: we
meet at various members' houses on the other Tuesday nights, and we've developed a series of modules
that we assemble to form a large club operating layout. Club members are involved in every facet of
the hobby. Construction, electrical wiring, scenery, painting and equipment maintenance are vital to
a smooth running railroad. But once the work is done, it's time to run trains. Operating sessions often
mimic prototype railroad operating schemes
The Club provides public demonstrations of model railroading
throughout the local area. We have demonstrated model railroading at the Georgia National Fair annually
since 2003. We've provided displays at the Byron, Georgia Railroad Depot supporting several of that
City's events. 2006 is our inaugural participation in the Macon Cherry Blossom Festival.
We share
our enthusiasm with local Boy Scout Troops by providing displays, clinics and counseling leading to the
Railroading Merit Badge.
