Enter

The winding path stopped abruptly
at a gate that was tall and wide.
She couldn't see what, if anything,
lay on the other side.

She looked at the ground, so familiar,
glanced back at the world all around,
then lifted her hand to the latchstring
and entered with nary a sound.

Photo/ August:  "The white garden " entrance to miracle haven garden in Glendale, Arizona, USA. Fresh basil ( sun) & sprigs of Arabian jasmine ( partial shade) are tucked into a dried grapevine wreath. To  the right, a bower vine climbs the arch above the gate. The lattice on the left got too much sun for a second bower vine, so I planted a miniature, climbing  Iceburg rose instead. Sword, asparagus & foxtail ferns grow in a mostly shady spot  alongside white lisanthius and vinca. Alyssum has begun to fill in and will bloom as the weather cools.
