Grumman A-6 Intruder
The A-6
Intruder was designed as a low-level, long-range strike aircraft for use by the US Navy.
The new aircraft was have a high sub-sonic performance at tree-top height to permit
under-the-radar penetration of enemy defenses and be capable of hitting small targets in
any weather. Production deliveries began in February 1963, with the aircraft becoming a
mainstay of Navy and Marine Corps squadrons during the Vietnam War. |

This is the A-6 Intruder now that it has been painted.
It is in generic markings,
as it is waiting for a sponsor to pay for (and choose) her exact squadron markings.

This aircraft is now complete, except for the squadron
markings and the addition of dummy ordnance.
Here is the A-6 as it now appears on the deck of the USS
Midway.
