Grumman A-6 Intruder

The A-6 Intruder was designed as a low-level, long-range strike aircraft for use by the US Navy. The new aircraft was have a high sub-sonic performance at tree-top height to permit under-the-radar penetration of enemy defenses and be capable of hitting small targets in any weather. Production deliveries began in February 1963, with the aircraft becoming a mainstay of Navy and Marine Corps squadrons during the Vietnam War.
