For the 2006-07 academic year, the Knights of Columbus awarded College Scholarships and Catholic School Grants totaling more than $1.5 million to 737 students.
Most recipients are the children of Knights or Knights working toward bachelor’s degrees at Catholic colleges and Catholic universities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Philippines.
(1) Applicant must be a member in good standing with the Bristol Council 379 Knights of Columbus, or a wife, son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter of a member in good standing of the Bristol Knights of Columbus Council 379, or a widow, son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter of a deceased member of the Bristol Knights of Columbus Council 379 who was in good standing at the time of his death.
(2) Applicant must list a selection of accredited colleges, schools of nursing, junior colleges, specialized schools or Catholic School, (Grades 1-12). College enrollment in course curriculum leading to a degree or certificate in a program of no less than two years in duration.
(3) Applicant must be entering as a college freshman or continuing as an upperclassman. No applications for assistance with graduate studies will be accepted.
(4) While applications may be submitted by more than one member of the same family, awards will be limited to one per family as funds are available.
