Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) Holsters

The ability to keep and bear arms is one of the most important rights you can have. It allows you to meet your responsibility. We do have the right and thank God we do!

Here are a few of my thoughts on CCW Holsters. I hope they will give you some help if you are looking for a holster. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome in the message board section of this site.

Living in both south-east and the mid-west concealment has always been a issue. What is the best way to conceal? What is the best, the deep concealment or quick access to your gun? What is comfortable for extended wear? What fits the changing style of clothes from casual to business?

I feel that it is important to have quick access to your gun when you carry. The best for quick access is the side holster (either belt or the type that clips over the belt and waist band.

Either the in waist band (IWB) or  the side holster (OWB) work well for quick access but there are times that these just don't work and a deep conceal holster is better. The IWB holster is more uncomfortable to me than the OWB.

I have found that the Smartcarry (www.smartcarry.com) is a great quality, reasonably priced and exceptionally good deep conceal holster. I have to say, at first I was a little skeptical of the claims that the Smartcarry was comfortable and worked well but I must tell you that it is. You may not forget you have it on but you get very use to it after a short time. The only time I really notice it is when I am sitting.

Below are pictures of each of the holsters I like and use. The clip is a convert carrier IWB application without a holster. I could not get the clip adjusted properly on this gun so that it would not tilt forward inside my waist band. It is a good idea and does work but was just not for this gun.
